On our way to Krispy critters

Today was blazing, started out it wasn’t too bad we took the metro to pont du Alma

and crossed over to catch the RER C to Versailles it was already pretty hot but not terrible. We had timed tickets for 10 (which grated as I like flexibility, but everyone on line said…..) AM and I was so grateful because we walked right in. The place was literally packed with people I don’t know that I’ve ever seen that many people there. That said it’s always beautiful to see and I am repeatedly amazed at the hall of mirrors and Marie Antoinette‘s quarters.

What I had not seen before, which was really fun, were what started out as the children’s quarters and ended up being a the Demosilles (who were the maiden aunts) quarters.

But they were snazzy if you have to be an old maiden aunt not so bad. Lunch was at Angelina, quit for us both, yum!

The gardens were beautiful but again the sun was blazing down it was 93. We did find a shady spot with a marble bench and that marble bench was cool and it was lovely sitting there we sat for a while waiting for the fountain show to begin watch that and then wandered back to the RER Station The train ride back was hotter than blazes I can’t even begin to imagine what it would’ve been like for Holocaust victims after being on that hot train today, at least we had windows open but it was blazing. Took about an hour and seemed forever because of the intense heat. Then we got back got cooled off a little bit and went to a restaurant called Le Soufflé for dinner.

It was delicious I had a goat cheese and tapenade mini soufflé we both had a mushroom and chicken soufflé as an entrée

and then a raspberry and rhubarb soufflé and it was delicious. But just too much. We walked back via Concord I had promised her a lovely view there, little did I know that that’s where the rugby village is set up for the world rugby games and talk about crapping up an area, they’ve got it really crapped up. We couldn’t even get into the Tullieries to wander around. So we came home I took another

cool bath and we’re ready for a new day tomorrow. A new day that is
also supposed to be over 90.
