Last day in the Counrtyside (9-13-23)

We had a plan for today, we got up, had breakfast, more of the same,

and  went to the church in Bayeaux, a basilica I think.

It is lovely inside,

a lot of stained glass and a lot of attention to details.

After that we went to the Bayeaux tapestry which if about the Battle of Hastings in 1066.  In other words it is very old!  As an embroiderer, it is amazing to me.I

love the scene with the Hand of God reaching down to get Edward the confessor after he died.

Also there was food!

Pascal from the B & B, advised us to go to  Beuvron-en-Auge  (862) as he said it was a. Ice mid evil village.  It certainly is.  Definitely our cup of tea. And we had a nice lunch in the village.

We had to laugh because did you see what we found in the street, might it be the errant cork
Sometimes I can be less than I right.  Claire wanted sandwiches from the bakery and I said I didn’t know where we would eat them, and on the way out we found a lovely park area complete with tables!

I gotta tell you that was the bossiest car!

We got back to Paris early and home sweet home.

Dinner was at an old favorite Bistro L Estrapade, but first we went to Place Estrapade ad I had read that Emily in Paris was filmed there.

(Yesterday wore me out SO bad that I was falling asleep while typing)

Anyway we had to laugh at an Asian couple posing in front of the door, trying very had to be sexy!

We rested and people watched a bit and then went to dinner. I had Gratineed raviolis, and we both had Pork with mushrooms and carrots in a light mustard sauce accompanied with mashed potatoes, but who needed them?  The lovely lady who runs the front of the restaurant remembered me and said this is your table, she sat us at the same table Sheryl and I sat at a sat year.  She was so kind and it was fun to see her again, and she puts up with my bad French!  The food was great too so I consider it a success.  Then we walked up a bit of rue Moufftard and stopped at Amorino. I requested a mini, the smallest,, and got a cone with a rose! It was my first ice cream rose!
