Chaude, caloroso, hot, heet, heiß………….

Talk about a bad way to start your day, this poor guy!

We needed to return to Printemps to get the VAT stuff done for Claires dress, we were early so I purchased some NUX products that I have been itching to try at the Pharmacy.
When we stopped at a lingerie store but the lady just too busy to give us the attention I wanted, and my boobies hung over the bra again.  SO we went to Printemps and while Claire did her thing I perused purses (There is a lovely dusty Pink fossil purse that had grabbed me) and ended up in the Lingerie section there too. That lady was even less in the mood to be helpful.  So I tried on a few until I was JUST OVER it! Claire tried on some too but neither of us have new undies.

We went to Monoprix then and bought some essentials, and not and returned home via a Chinese food shop.  It was only o.k.

After a quick fluff and puff, really more like pat and dab,, it is SO stinkin’ hot here, 91 degrees today.  With a forecast of 96 tomorrow I am really worried.  Regardless we went to the 5th via faithful but 86 to the Musee de Cluny.  It is the museum of the Middle Ages and full of many interesting things like jewelry, religious artifacts, paintings, sculpture, etc.

My favorite is the Lady and the Unicorn Tapestry.  I don’t’ think Claire was as taken with her as I am but there she and her little unicorn were, lovely and just waiting to be seen.

The museum was blessedly cool!

After we went for a coffee and lingonberry berry cake for me

and smoothie for Claire at Maa just across the way from the museum.

 It is a Finnish place.

A first for me I think..  I’d go back.

Then we went to Luxembourg Gardens, I painted while Claire roamed, the darned Medici Fountain is drained dry, seriously, what happened to the fish, or the ducks?

I mean I get getting ready for the Olympics and all, but what about the fish and ducks?

Claire took some lovely photographs.

As we walked to St Suplice to have a look see  i noticed this statue outside the institute of Hungary, I really felt her pain!

( and saw more businesses with flowers),

on the way we had a quick look at the poem of RImaud on passage Varrenne.

and then caught the 86 bus back towards the house, but stopped at the Bastille and dinned at Bofinger.

We both had the chicken terrine, and Claire had fish and chips while I had Chicken and asked potatoes with some sort of sauce, it was good.

BUT the piece de la resistance was the Isle Flotant.  I have skillfully avoided that over the years because I didn’t think it sounded good.  But it was part of the prefix and I thought what the heck.  Let me just tell you, at least on this hellishly hot day, it was heaven!

Meringue floating in a lake of vanilla cream sauce with caramel drizzled and some toasted pecans sprinkled on top……. Here comes Snuffles again…….  I was a little miffed as I wanted Claire to get to experience the lovely dining room and they put us on the second floor, but it was at lease cool.

On the way back we saw some pop up tango lessons.
